BOYS WILL BE BOYS

In this project, I propose a concept for an immersive theatre experience based on the play “Boys Will Be Boys” by Melissa Bubnic, to be staged at Hangar Bicocca in Milan. The aim is to create an engaging and captivating experience for the audience by immersing them in the storyline and allowing them to connect with and observe the actors. The concept involves a carefully designed path through various sets, installations, and audiovisual moments, manipulating the audience’s emotions and perceptions.

Through the immersive journey, participants are invited to witness and directly experience the consequences of gender inequality and the toxic behaviours associated with it. By immersing the audience in the story, the concept provides a unique opportunity for individuals to confront their own biases and assumptions, encouraging self-reflection and questioning of societal norms.

By combining the elements of narrative-driven sets, thought-provoking installations, audiovisual enhancements, intentional manipulation of emotions, and opportunities for audience participation, the immersive theatre experience of “Boys Will Be Boys” at Hangar Bicocca in Milan aims to create a multifaceted and intellectually stimulating encounter. It seeks to challenge conventional notions of spectatorship and provide a transformative journey that leaves a lasting impression on the participants.
